I would think it would be the opposite, no? But at the same time, I think it's likely true that Asian cultures are characterized by more repression; how are you making sense of it?Danny Shaharhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16781136797017833336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4997912958688613223.post-57500718348449527102008-09-26T13:00:00.000+09:002008-09-26T13:00:00.000+09:00I loved your comment about missing the US but know...I loved your comment about missing the US but knowing that you will miss Korea when you leave. That is exactly true! I can remember when we first returned home from Germany, I'd be driving down the street, or walking somewhere, and suddenly I'd have this bizarre feeling that everything was wrong, that I was on a different planet or something. I'd be missing Germany so much that everything just look wrong because it wasn't Germany. Actually, the result (in the long run) is that I became more aware of what is wonderful and beautiful about the US, as well as what is wonderful and beautiful about all the other countries in the world. --More aware of the differences and more aware of the similarities in people and countries. There are more basic similarities than the superficial differences in culture lead us to believe. Gives one a different answer to the question of what makes us human.
Your experiences will probably light a fire in you to keep traveling and meeting new people. Changes your life!
Love,
LiAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
